We hope this season finds you happy, healthy, and spending time with loved ones!
Merry Christmas!!

The prayers of the Belk household are with the nation and with those who mourn this weekend. God bless our troops, civil heroes, and America.
Oh, wow the MS Challenge Walk is coming up QUICKLY!
(Which means the fundraising deadline is looming!)
We are so so grateful to those who have supported us thus far- getting Mike to the fundraising minimum of $2,500.00!!!! Isn’t that amazing!
I’m still working my way towards that goal! And, for anyone who donates to Da Belks between today and September 20th, you will be entered to win a sunset sail and cocktail cruise for 2 around the San Diego Bay!
An astounding evening with views of the San Diego skyline and Naval Base Coronado!
The winner will be announced on September 21st, and the date of sail TBD according to the the winner’s calendar!

… so I was wandering through Bath and Body Works the other day…
I’m trying desperately to tame my sweet tooth– as I’m fairly certain it’s my biggest downfall! But a girl can only resist so much… so in an attempt not to make daily visits to the yogurtland that is LITERALLY 10 feet away from the entrance to my office building, I’ve been allowing myself this sweet treat in the afternoon.

And yes, even if the soda can is ice cold– I prefer to drink it from a cup with ice!
Yay, Mail!
What could warrant two envelopes?
Oh, a graduation announcement!
But now it’s time to put it to good use. You see, I have LOVED every second of my job over the last 4 years– and have learned more than I can express. But it’s just time to move, grow, and learn some more.
I haven’t really addressed this topic via other social media. It feels a little more personal than that. So of you, my few dedicated blog readers, I ask for prayer. Prayer for peace as I prepare for interviews. Prayer for peace when decisions are made. And prayer as I embark on a new journey…
We are having an AMAZING summer!
(…as evidence by my apparent inability to update this blog…)
But the mornings have been foggier– and there’s talk of football in my house.
I can’t help but realize that fall is rapidly approaching! Which means 2 things!
1. The MS Challenge Walk is next month!!
2. My favorite scents and flavors are about to make an appearance: Cinnamon, apple, and pumpkin, oh my!
Well, I have found a way to combine them by working with Gold Canyon Candles to host a fundraiser!
From now until September 5, I will be selling Gold Canyon Candles, and a portion of each purchase will be donated to our fundraising efforts for the 2011 MS Challenge Walk.
The Scents:
Apple Spice
Autumn Walk
Cozy Christmas
Cranberry Orange
Amber Vanilla
Mulled Cider (My Favorite!)
Sugar Cookie
Cinnamon Vanilla
Pumpkin Pie
Sweet Pea
Pomegranite
Warm Welcome
Days of Christmas
Holiday Wreath
Clean Sheets
Candles come in 3 different sizes. Pricing as follows:
8 oz Candle: $17.00
16 oz Candle: $21.00
26 oz Candle: $25.00
(Pricing includes tax and shipping!)
I LOVE these candles! They burn for hours, don’t create a lot of smoke, and have a safety wick… so if someone absent-minded like me forgets to blow them out, they will extinguish themselves before the flame reaches the glass!
Also, it may seem strange to purchase candles via the internet– when you can’t even smell a sample! Please feel free to contact me if you wish to get together to experience some scents before shopping!
And as always- if you’re interested in supporting our participation in the 2011 MS Challenge Walk, you can always donate at our team page- or by clicking on the “I Walk icon on the right of the page.
( No! We are note pregnant… I just think this will be our lives someday.)

While Jen and I were enjoying Sugarland at UCSD tonight… the boys managed to turn our little living room into a Jr. High boy’s dream!
Four boys. Two TV’s. Lots of angry zombies…
